TM2 2016 User Changes

TM2 2016 brings enhancements to the user profile configuration in order to provide stronger security and more modern functionality.

This update is important to ensure that your clinic is following the best practice possible.

Password complexity changes

The use of strong, unique passwords is one of the most important things you can do to keep your practice perfect, not to mention safe!
(This goes for any Website - not just TM2)

In this update, passwords that are acceptable for TM3/TM2 logins are rated from Good to Great.

To create a password that meets our strength requirements it’s recommended to use a mix of three or more random/ common words:

Examples - These are examples - Do not Use!

Good Password (bacontvscreen)

Great Password (fruit-city-person-pet)

We would recommend an effective approach to having a great password would be to pick a series of random words

While this type of password pattern might deviate from common password patterns it is much more difficult for computers to crack, whilst remaining easily memorable.

If the password you have picked falls below the Good password strength level, feel free to add some special characters or numbers to increase the strength.

The password meter may seem random but the algorithm used is in fact recognizing and rejecting common password patterns such as dates, phrase (eg “password”)”and keyboard patterns such as (9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0).

Password Expiration

For added security we have also included an option that will expire passwords after a set time at which point the user will have to enter in a new password in order to continue using TM2

Current User

When logging in for the first time after updating to TM2 2016 you will be notified that your password may no longer meet the security requirements.

Passwords must now be longer and have a better mix of alpha-numeric characters.

Please note: Each TM2 User must have a individual email address. You cannot use the same email address on multiple users.

New User

When a System Administrator creates a new TM2 User Profile they will need to nominate an email address that will receive a temporary password.

At initial login the new user will then be prompted to change the password.

Please note: Each TM2 User must have a individual email address. You cannot use the same email address on multiple users.

Reset Password

System Administrators are able to reset the password and the user will receive an email containing a temporary password to access TM2 and reconfigure the password. Every TM2 user must now have there own specific email address.

To perform the reset System Administrators must navigate to the Users section found under the Admin tab.

You will need to perform a search and find the user in question, double click on this row to open the details.

Once you have opened the record you will see a Reset Password (and send email) line of text.

If you click this an email will be sent to the address located in the Email field (support@blue-zinc.com in this example).

An unique (not in use by another user) MUST be entered here.

The user in question will use this temporary password to login at which time they will be prompted to provide a new password.

The above method is the only means by which the password can be reset unless in a case where by the System Administrator and named account holder cannot login.  In such case that person (the account holder) will need to call the Support Line on 1300 855 023

Please note: Each TM2 User must have a individual email address. You cannot use the same email address on multiple users.
